Multi - award winning guitarist/singer/songwriter Matt Dwyer has been wowing audiences across Australia and overseas for close to two decades. By the time he was in his mid twenties he’d already become a respected veteran of the blues and roots scene as a member of seminal band The Bondi Cigars as well as a solo artist.
Since then he’s released two albums - the 2007 release “Who Loves Ya” was critically acclaimed, scoring Album Of the Year at the Vic/ Tas Blues Awards as well as securing the Artist Of the Year Award. Ken Williams of Melbourne’s The Age called it “Certainly my album of the year.” High praise indeed. 2011 release “It’s A Jungle Out There” only solidified Dwyer’s reputation as one of the best in the business.
Matt Dwyer is clearly an artist in a class all his own.
One look and you’ll be hooked.
Meraki formed in 2012 when Kerry and Joe met at a Latin dance festival. As soon as we started jamming we knew it would be great to perform together.
We enjoy playing a wide range of material from Van Morrison to Daft Punk and every era in between.
With the range to perform anything from ballads and blues to rock n roll and classics we have performed at restaurants, pubs, private functions and weddings.
Meraki music includes a variety of instruments - guitars, ukuleles, percussion and saxophone as well as beautiful harmonies.
You can find our sound recordings and live videos as well photos on the Facebook page but I have included below the photo we use on our business card. Looking forward to our gig at Royal Oak on September 7.

'Old-school Blues' is all Gardiner & Gabriel say to sum up their music. Driven by a love of the blues, these boys are most inspired by the most earthy, smokey, authentic vintage blues from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago, citing Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, John-Lee Hooker and Robert Johnson as the artists that move them most. Having raised eyebrows in and around Melbourne for the last year and a half this laid-back guitar/harmonica duo bring their bluesy baritone, soulful harp wails and artful acoustic finger-picking to the Royal Oak for a special performance. Sunday, 14 October, 4pm.
